Obtain your Hungarian Tax ID

A tax identification number is an absolute necessity for fundamental administrative actions in Hungary. 

- The Authority: The tax registry is strictly managed by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV).

- The Application: You must apply for an Adóazonosító jel (Tax ID) by submitting the official Form T34 at a local NAV tax office.     

- Why it matters: Without this 10-digit tax number, you cannot legally sign a part-time student job contract, open certain local student bank accounts, or receive official scholarship payouts.
