From Mercedes-Benz Robotics to SAMK University: A 180-Degree Career Turn

Hello friends!
How Finland taught me the art of radical reinvention. The story behind HubStudentEurope, built on engineering decisions and the raw resilience of the Nordic system.
My professional roots are deep in mechanical engineering. In 2006, I graduated from the State University of Petrosani with a degree in Machines and Equipment. I set out with a structured mind, trained in pure mechanics, calculations and complex industrial systems. In 2018, this solid technical background opened the doors to the heart of top automotive robotics in Finland: a contract at the famous Valmet Automotive factory in Uusikaupunki, where I assembled premium models for Mercedes-Benz., A-Class, GLC and of course AMG
Entering the Body Shop as a robotic cell operator, my engineering instinct pushed me not to stop at execution work. I wanted to master the technology of the future: I studied robotics and automation at Suomen Yrittäjäopisto, specializing directly in the programming and management of ABB industrial robotic arms. Everything seemed like a perfect and stable production line. Until a major geopolitical context hit Finland’s eastern border directly. Exports to the eastern market were completely blocked, distribution chains broke, and the automotive giant was forced to reconfigure everything, ultimately leading to the closure of the business.
When the factory closes, the engineer’s mind recalculates the route
In many places in the world, such an economic collapse leaves you adrift. In Finland, however, I discovered a unique philosophy: Jatkuva oppiminen (continuous learning). The system is designed to reinvent you, not abandon you.
Using the structural logic of an engineer, I analyzed the market and made a radical 180-degree pivot to the most stable and sought-after field in Nordic society: the social and healthcare sector. I started from the ground up, graduating with a professional degree as a Lähihoitaja (medical assistant). But because a mind trained in systems management always wants to optimize processes, I went to a top university in parallel. At SAMK (Satakunta University of Applied Sciences) in Pori, I completed two strategic university specializations: Change Management and Basics of Geriatrics.
Why does my story matter to HubStudentEurope users?
When I founded HubStudentEurope, I didn’t just want to create a website with cold links. I wanted to provide international students with exactly the architecture that I would have needed in my moments of transition.
The step-by-step integration system you find on our platform is designed with the rigor of a mechanical engineer and tested firsthand in the most complex life scenarios. We've been through it all.:

1. From being a mechanical engineer controlling industrial robots to being a fresh graduate in the Finnish vocational system (Ammattiopisto).

2. From factory pragmatism to the rigors of academic essays at a Finnish University of Applied Sciences (UAS).

3. From navigating local bureaucracy to a deep understanding of how the Nordic state can finance and support your studies if you know how the system works.

Finland is where completely reconfiguring your career path is not a failure, but a testament to Sisu (pure resilience). If you’re ready to start your own academic journey in Europe, we’ve got the map for you. The engineering mind has already solved the integration equation for you.
Tervetuloa! Welcome aboard your future!
